Supplier: Bodegas Montevannos

Bodegas Montevannos, S.L. was established in the year 1987. It is located in Baños de Valdearados (Burgos), a rich and generous land on the highest area of Ribera del Duero, next to a 2,000 years ancient Roman site. Montevannos owns 50 hectares of the Tinta Fina and Merlot varieties placed at over 900 metres above sea level. This particular fact, together with the thorough and constant care of each vine, the meticulousness in picking up the best grapes during the harvest season, the climatic and soil conditions of the Ribera, which boasts dry summers, severe winters and few rainfalls concentrating mainly in the spring and autumn months, grounds of fertile clay and chalky soil and a soft orography, are all essential factors in the growing and ripening process of our grapes, and contribute to grant our wines a unique character and a strong personality.

Montevannos-Tempranillo-Merlot-2007

Ribera del Duero Roble Montevannos

Origin: Ribera del Duero, Spain
Grapes: 90% Tempranillo and 10% Merlot
Tasting Notes: Wines from the Ribera del Duero region are less well-known in the UK than Riojas, but they are very highly regarded in Spain. These rich in character wines are richly composed of Tempranillo grapes (like Riojas are too), but tend to have a more subtle oakiness and depth of flavour. Blackberry fruits combine with a hint of lightly sun dried herbs.
Food Pairing: Particularly suited with roasted meats, game dishes and mature cheeses.
Alcohol Content: 13.5% vol
Case Size: 6 x 75cl
