Marchesi Antinori Srl is an Italian wine company that can trace its history back to 1385. They are one of the biggest wine companies in Italy, and their innovations played a large part in the "Super-Tuscan" revolution of the 1970s. Antinori is a member of the Primum Familiae Vini.

Tignanello Toscana IGT 1997

Origin: Tuscany, Italy
Grapes: 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc
Wine Information The original Super-Tuscan, Tignanello was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first red wine to be blended with non-traditional varieties (like Cabernet) and one of the first Chianti reds not to use white grapes. Tignanello is a milestone. It is made from a selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in barriques for about 12 months and for a further 12 months in the bottle.
Tasting Notes:: Intensely fruity and complex on the nose, full-bodied, rich and complex in the mouth with exceptional structure and a lengthy finish.
Alcohol Content: 13.5% vol (1997 vintage)

Sassicaia Bolgheri Doc 1998

Origin: Tuscany, Italy
Grapes: 85 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 % Cabernet Franc
Wine Information: Guida del Gambero Rosso "Vini d'Italia" 2002 describes the Sassicaia 1998 edition as one of the best ever made. The wine was aged for 23 months in French oak and then bottled before the end of October 2000.
Tasting Notes: The culminate result has been an outstanding wine of very fine structure and richness, yet maintaining a notable finesse and sweetness of tannins, a characteristic common to all the vintages of Sassicaia.
